Unique Option #1: Wine Tasting--Okay, so there is still drinking involved with this option, but in a much calmer and more dignified way (unless you're wine tasting with my friends...then not so dignified ;o)). This option can be held during the day at someone's house, or at a winery if you have one close enough to you. If your bride is a wino, this would be the perfect choice for her!
Unique Option #2: Disneyland (or any other amusement park)--I, of course, am a huge Disney fan, so for me, this would be an awesome choice for a bachelorette. If your bride is into any specific amusement park, plan a fun day with all the girls (don't forget matching shirts!). You could even do an overnighter--have an old fashioned sleepover with everyone piled in the same room and spend TWO days of fun at your chosen playground. This is a great option for a bride who is not a big drinker/partyer.
Unique Option #3: Spa Day--Who doesn't love a good day of pampering and relaxation? A spa day is the perfect way for your bride to unwind before the big day. I have yet to meet a bride who wasn't stressed and in need of a good massage! A spa day could be held at someone's house (invite the professionals to come to you!) or you could take all the girls to your local day spa. Either way, this is a great way to celebrate your bride.
Unique Option #4: Camping--This option is not for everyone (it definitely would not be for me!), but if you have a bride who is adventurous and outdoorsy, camping would be a great way for the girls to get together and bond. Some hiking, swimming, beers, and smores and you got yourself a great little party! If you do decide to go camping, make sure someone in your group can manage the essentials (like starting a fire!). Then get to the ghost stories!
Unique Option #5: A Day at the Races: Gotta admit, spending a day at the racetrack is not something I ever would have thought of, but it sounds like a super fun day! Everyone can get dressed up, rock some awesome hats, drink some mojitos and make some bets. Maybe you'll even win some moola to sweeten the deal! If you have a racetrack local to your bride, I think this is a totally unique idea that would be a lot of fun!
Whatever you decide to do for your bachelorette, be it your own or a friend's, remember that the day is all about relaxing with good friends and having some fun. At the end of each post this week, I'll be sharing some pics from my own bachelorette (can't believe I'm actually posting these on the internet!). We went the good old fashioned drink/dance/party route, and I wouldn't have had it any other way! Make sure you come back tomorrow for day two of Bachelorette Week!
